It’s finally here. Fall is officially among us and if you’re anything like me, fall is probably one of the most cozy, delicious times of the year for you! Fall is when we start pulling out our jean jackets, Timberlands and ordering pumpkin spice lattes instead of hibiscus refreshers. It’s also my favorite fashion season. As some of you may know F is also for FASHION WEEK! Fashion Week is a week dedicated to showcasing the world’s top designer clothing all in one venue. It’s also where you can find buzzworthy trends for the season that usually make their way over to our premium clothing stores like Zara, which are known for providing us with very similar runway pieces.
My favorite fall trend is definitely the color burgundy. Wine colored lips, Burgundy sweaters, dark-colored hema free choices for nails, etc. I think the color really compliments our skin tones during the cold weather. Summer is over, so this deep, dramatic color brings warmth and liveliness back into us. These are a few essentials I think are perfect for Fall:
If you are feeling a bit daring this fall, you should really go for one of these bold colors. These wine and burgundy shades will really bring warmth to your face during this cold season.
- The MAC lipsticks are usually $16 but a much cheaper alternative that works pretty well too would be Wet and Wild’s MegaLast Lip Colors. These babies last ALL DAY! Once you put it on that sucker won’t budge.
- Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color is $1.99 ( I’d probably start with this if it’s your first time wearing a dark color.)
Sweaters are much appreciated during this transition of summer to fall! Knit sweaters are great to throw under a black leather jacket with a pair of light wash jeans. The best colors for fall sweaters are tan, grey, burgundy (of course), and black. Sometimes these monochromatic colors make it easier to mix and match pieces and create more outfits .
- H&M is having a $10 sale on Rib Knit sweaters. (Their basic sweaters range from $20-$30)
- Forever 21 is slightly more trendy, meaning more cuts and patterns. Their sweaters usually start at $25 for heavy, thicker materials. You can sometimes find $10 deals there as well.
Timberlands have been around for years! They’ve evolved from being strictly a snow boot to a fashionable boot. I LOVE Timbs. They’re personally year-round footwear for me but most people pull these bad boys out when the weather starts to get a little chilly. Timbs come in different cuts and colors, but the tan double-sole will always be a classic. You can purchase Timbs at the official Timberland store OR you can get a pair from VIM jeans, which is where I got mine for only $70. And yes they are real! Luckily for those of us with small feet, like me, we can get away with shopping in the kid’s footwear section.
Fall is the best time to make layers and warm colors work for you. It’s also a great time to experiment with things you’ve never tried before, whether it’s coffee flavors, seasonal donut flavors or lipstick colors. Don’t be afraid to try something new. You might try it and decide to make it your staple look!
