Don’t let the falling drapes of night,
Distort the reality of your decisions,
Or take away your crushing sobriety.
Beware the consequences,
Of what seems brilliant,
Of what takes your darkest thoughts,
And turns them to gold in the weak light.
The glowing marks of blood,
Will smile at you with fierce canines,
And tell you how beautiful they are,
Beg you to reveal more.
But the moment you succumb to those nagging thoughts,
In the corner of your mind,
Or even at the closest front,
Pushing hard,
Screaming,
Whispering,
Sobbing,
Alluring.
Don’t think about the looming brightness,
Just stop
Flick off your power switch
And let night’s obscurity,
Overcome you,
And protect you,
From your mind’s destructive darkness.
