Gun violence is an enduring issue in today’s society. There have been 307 mass shootings in the U.S in only 2018. The most recent of those horrific events was the Pittsburgh shooting, that killed eleven people and injured six on October 27th.
Gun violence is an ongoing issue in America and we need a solution. Why are teenagers able to get access to guns? Why isn’t there always some type of background check required whenever a person purchases a gun? There needs to be some way that the world can be made safer, because the increasing number of civilian mass shootings is unbelievable.
Not long ago, Kim Kardashian West told the world about her feelings on gun violence during her show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”. She said “As a parent, the thought of bringing your kid to school and having them not come home because of a senseless shooting is something that definitely consumes me.” She later went to the March For Our Lives rally in Washington, D.C. We need more influential people—both celebrities and politicians— to speak up about this topic of gun control. Everyone, including ordinary citizens, needs to make it known that America must take action in order to prevent more and more people from dying.
