SEPTEMBER 2019 PREVIEW ISSUE!

The 2019-2020 school year has already begun, and we here at the MCSM RamPage are busy recruiting new student reporters and assigning stories!  Although our first full issue comes out in October, we have published a few important articles that couldn’t wait another month.

First comes Samina Ahmed’s comprehensive photo essay covering the 2019 Student Climate Strike in New York City.  (Pictures were contributed by Christopher Lara and Fariha Ahmed.)

Next we are proud to present one of the first reviews of a new book by legendary rap star Rakim Allah. Before Kendrick Lamar brought socially relevant rhymes  back into fashion,  Rakim flipped the script on how a “woke” MC should rock the crowd.  Rakim’s memoir “Sweat the Technique” comes out this month from Amistad Press.

Finally, below we offer a brief introduction to our 2019-2020 student editors. Editor in Chief Fariha T. Rahman, Assistant Editor Fariha Ahmed, and Copy Editor Samina Ahmed have great plans for our school newspaper. They shared some of those ideas with old and new staff members during our Sept.24 Club Fair.
