In the past few weeks it may seem that the only thing news outlets are talking about is the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. This new virus has impacted our social, educational, and personal lives, but it seems that now the disease has come for our entertainment industry.
Recently many concert events have been canceled and movie releases have been postponed. The production of certain television shows along with various movies in the making are also being temporarily suspended..

The theatrical release of A Quiet Place Part II, the sequel to A Quiet Place, has been put on hold. On March 12, writer/director John Krasinski stated on an Instagram post, that the sequel to his and Emily Blunt’s film is on hold. He stated “Well, due to the ever-changing circumstances of what’s going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that. As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie … I’m gonna wait to release the film til we CAN all see it together.”
Another eagerly anticipated film release that has been postponed is Fast and Furious 9. The original release date for this movie was May 22, 2020; however due to the outbreak this date has been changed. In North America the premiere will now be April 2, 2021! With the isolation orders now being obeyed in international places, Universal Studios may get little to no profit in countries like Italy, South Korea, and China. On Twitter they said “While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration. Moving will allow our global family to experience our new chapter together.”
All you James Bond fans eagerly anticipating No Time to Die, in which Daniel Craig will resume his role as Agent 007, may have to be patient, since the release date for this movie has been pushed back several months. As of now, No Time to Die is scheduled to be released on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in the U.K. and Wednesday, November 25, 2020 worldwide.
The following alert appeared on Twitter: “MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, announced [on March 4, 2020] that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of NO TIME TO DIE will be postponed until November 2020.”

They suspended production after a crew member came into contact with a coronavirus patient.
According to Deadline, both American Ninja Warrior and The Price Is Right have halted filming for two weeks. Meanwhile, America’s Got Talent has canceled all remaining film time in front of live studio audiences, which were supposed to be taped from March 13 to March 17.
On March 11, the producers of Ellen, revealed plans to no longer film with a live studio audience. “With the rapidly changing nature of the COVID-19 outbreak,” they explained, “and out of concern for our audience attending The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Telepictures will suspend audience attendance during tapings, effective Monday, March 16th.” A spokesperson for Telepictures added in a statement to Deadline. “This temporary measure will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and will not impact the production schedule of Ellen.”

The original date scheduled for Billboard’s annual music awards show to broadcast live on NBC was April 29th. However, on March 17th the producers announced that due to the Coronavirus, the show has been postponed to air on a later date.
The annual Met Gala was going to occur on Monday May 1st, but at this point the museum’s high-fashion celebrity bash has been postponed. Due to a letter advising the Met staff of the CDC’s recommendation that all gatherings of 50 or more scheduled for the next eight weeks be postponed or canceled, the museum decided to cancel or postpone all events through May 15 — including the gala.
