TRAVEL: 6 Reasons to Visit Pakistan

By Amen Dilawar

Pakistan is one of the most fascinating countries in the world. I am from Pakistan and lived there for about 11 years of my life, which is why I can guarantee that it is a good place to visit. It has all the things a tourist might be looking for.  So let’s take a look at some of the reasons you’d enjoy your time there!

Reason #1: The Cultural Diversity

Pakistan has four provinces, and each of them has its own language, traditions, food, art, and everything else. If you were to go to one of the distinct provinces of Pakistan, you would think of it as a new country because of how unique everything is. You would notice how differently the people look, dress, speak, and behave. Back in Pakistan, I used to live in Sindh, which is the third largest province in Pakistan. The whole point is that cultural diversity is a big part of Pakistan, both because of different tourists visiting, and the different religions and cultures that native people follow. This diversity is what enriches the variety of food, the great range of music, and the literature that people get to read as well.

Reasons #2: Traditional/ Desi food

The food in Pakistan is famous for its spices and herbs. The best part of Pakistani food is its delicious taste, and I am sure that you would love the street food. That is the best. One of my favorite things to eat is “biryani”, which is basically chicken over rice. However, there’s a lot more flavor. To add on to that, Pakistan is also famous for its unique “Mithai”, which are sweets made with local recipes topped with an assortment of nuts.

Pakistan is known for its agriculture; hence, you should be prepared to taste the kind of organic fruits and vegetables you can only dream of.

Reason #3: Awesome clothes

What I love most about Pakistan are the local bazaars that sell fancy clothes. The national dress of this fantastic country is Shalwar Kameez. You can easily find them in cotton, silk, wool, and linen. Something different there is that women buy unstitched clothes and then get it stitched by tailors according to the way that they like the best. Everything comes out just perfect and amazing!

Reason #4: Beautifully decorated trucks and rickshaws

Anyone who visits Pakistan will be completely blown away by the mesmerizing art on all the trucks. You would literally look at decorated trucks as you are in traffic, and it just blows your mind. Pakistanis are exceedingly artistic, and can do things that no one has ever thought of. You must see the beauty of a truck, especially when it’s amazingly decorated. It raises a proud feeling of culture and tradition. I remember seeing peacocks and other animals painted on trucks, and it feels really special.
Furthermore, there are also rickshaws.  A rickshaw is a two-wheeled vehicle that is used as a mode of transportation for hire. If you ever visit Pakistan, you can’t miss riding on a rickshaw!

Reason #5: The Natural Beauty

Pakistan is famous for its geographical magnificence.  That’s because it contains many varieties of natural phenomena,  starting with rolling hills and towering peaks in the north. Talking about the north, that side of Pakistan is known to be  particularly beautiful because of It’s natural landscape. It has vast fields and rivers, and towards the province of Sindh, we begin to see oceans.  Plus there are deserts as well. We must not forget that Pakistan has the second highest mountain in the world called K2. Besides that, there are temples and mosques that enhance the beauty of this country as well.

Reason #6: The beach in Karachi

Karachi is the largest city in Pakistan, and that’s where I used to live when I was there. It has one of the nation’s only beaches, referred to as Sea View, and this beach is something very special. People go there to relax and cool themselves, especially during the hot weather. The beach itself has a tremendous amount of shells and crabs, so it is something that a lot of individuals find fun to explore. ThIs beach is very popular as it is the only beach in the province of Sindh and no other province has one except for Balochistan. Sea View is open 24/7 to the general public, and it’s quite worth visiting.

###

This list of reasons could go on forever because of how enjoyable Pakistan can be, and how more people should get to know this.  I want people to visit this wonderful place not only because I’m from Pakistan, but also because every country is valuable and deserves to be seen by other people.

Thus, even as we continue praying for the coronavirus situation to end, we still want to enjoy all the pleasures of life while we can. So why not visit Pakistan after all this is over?
