MCTV NEWS RECAP: February & March Edition


Each weekday morning, the alert on-air personalities of MCTV broadcast the latest school news into our classrooms.  Below we revisit some of the top announcements from February and March.


On Sunday, February 13th at the Manhattan Borough Championship games, our varsity track team won an unprecedented 15 medals in competition against other top high schools at the Armory.  Go Rams!

ALWAYS CARRY YOUR ID!!  Students must always remember to scan ID cards each time they enter or leave the school for lunch, and when entering the cafeteria or the library. Replacement ID cards can be gotten from room 160B.

Sophmore, Junior, and Senior student who wish to earn college credits over this summer, should apply immediately to the “Summer College Now” program at City College.  More info in the Guidance Office.


Current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students interested in science and medical careers should apply now for one of three summer programs being offered at Mount Sinai Medical School by CEYE (the Center for Excellence in Youth Education). Learn important skills, have fun, and make friends with like-minded  scholars!  Reserve your place as soon as possible.

Nicole Manning, Editor in Chief of our school newspaper, was chosen to represent MCSM on a brand new school newspaper advisory board co-sponsored by the Baruch School of Journalism, called the “NYC Press Pass”.

On March 30th, MCTV will announce the winner of its logo contest.  Students could scan the qr codes to see and vote for their favorite entry.  Below are images of just a few of the 14 finalists.

 

 

 




Remember, if you are a club advisor or a club officer who needs to promote their club or special upcoming events and student achievements on MCTV, submit your announcements to Ms. Parsons several days before the club event.
