Where to go? What to do?

Where to go? What to do?

By: Addrita Biswas

We get several breaks throughout our high school years. Each year we get about 3-4 weeks off from school which seems like the long awaited break we have all been craving for, right? That is until you realize that there isn’t much to do. Maybe some of you do go out and maybe some of you want to go out but don’t know where to go.

That’s where I come in to help you, my friends. Allow me to provide you some of the places I have been to and why I like them so much. Next time you’re confused about places to go to, you can always refer back to here. Don’t worry, this page won’t run away.

Bibble and Sip Cafe – Located  253 W 51st St, New York, NY 10019

This one is my personal favorite because this cafe would be really well known for its treats. They are real instagram worthy, you’ll get a good amount of likes over them. In my opinion, the best part about this place is the drinks because they have this special selection of drinks that are housemade. Arguably, this spot might be better than Starbucks. (Don’t attack me for it, I love that one too) The pricing for the drinks seem reasonable but the treats might be a little pricey so check the online menu before you decide to go there.

The Dough Club – 19 Baxter St, New York, NY 10013

Okay, I lied. I haven’t been to this spot here specifically but that doesn’t mean you should disregard it. Hear me out here, I promise it will be worth it. If you haven’t tried it yet, you need to not walk but run and get yourself a mochi donut. Trust me when I say that it’s life changing. (not exaggerating at all, duh) Okay but seriously, imagine a regular donut but each bite is more filling and tastier, that’s what a mochi donut is. It’s this donut made of chewy sticky rice. They usually also look a lot better than regular donuts so for all my aesthetic people out there, this one is for the gram.  Typically the pricing for these donuts aren’t that high so grab yourself a few instead of just one. You’ll definitely crave another after and then regret not getting extra.

Paris Baguette – 136-17 39th Ave, Queens, NY 11354

So I might have lied again, I haven’t been to this spot. BUT, let me tell you, this place is too good to not visit. Not only do they have a variety of pastries and breads you can choose from, they have drinks AND sandwiches as well. I tried this turkey sandwich with some type of cranberry sauce, basil leaves and cheese and now I simply must get it every time I go to this bakery. They have some real good egg tarts and breads to choose from if you’re into those. Paris Baguette has several spots throughout the city and they might be having their own specials. Most of them are pretty affordable too so check them out! (Oh in case I haven’t mentioned it already, yes they have instagram worthy items too)

Alright folks that’s all we have so far. If you’re a big cafe fanatic like me then these are spots you should definitely hit if you haven’t already. Grab your friends and go out for a chill hanging out at these recommendations, you will not regret it. Hope you all are having a good break so far!
