PHOTO ESSAY: MCSM’s Spring Talent Show

By Lubiana Mahrin

Every year, Manhattan Center holds at least one school-wide Talent Show to showcase our students’ many abilities and hobbies outside of academics. The key organizer is Mr. Tramm—a teacher and a gifted musician—who also runs the school’s Music Club.

On April 11th, students and faculty filled the auditorium to enjoy instrumental music, many different styles of singing, dances from different cultures, and rapping. Below are some of the highlights from this year’s show.

Fariha Fawziah, Rifath Islam, and Sanjida Islam came to the stage performing Bollywood dances.

The MCSM student band gets busy!

The duo of Naomi and Juan performing a Bruno Mars hit:  “When I Was Your Man”.

Let’s not forget the enthusiastic hosts of this event, specifically: Malak, Genesis, Yosselin, and Robert.

Soloist Samina Ahmed performed a K-Pop dance to a song called “Fake Love” by BTS.

One of our school’s most dynamic dance teams performed  “Center of Attention”.

The specialized dance team known as  the “Afro Beats,” ended this year’s  show with customized stage-wear that enhanced their powerful choreography.

if you missed your chance to attend or perform in this year’s show, don’t worry!  Clubs start rehearsing new performances as early as September, and non-club performers will have plenty of time to prepare something special or to consult with Mr. Tramm about what they might like to do.
