It was the idea of Editor in Chief Fariha Fawziah to have a Bowling Party. She looked at a number of locations and ultimately decided the Times Square Bowlmor Lanes location would be the best for a staff party.
As the pictures show, Anndy, Ruby, Samina, Rifath, Fariha R. Fariha F, and Fariha A. all came down to midtown Manhattan for our bowling party, where the staff did their best to give us enough free pizza and sodas to make sure we had a good time.
The lanes assigned us were designed as the Central Park themed section, where turf grass, lamp posts, vintage bridges and trees surround the bowling area. To make the day even more special, the lane managers made us a celebration sign. They also placed the illuminated silver metal letters “M-C-S-M” on the nearby shelf marking the entrance to our two lanes around the catering area, where our pizza and bottomless soft drinks were set up.
Anndy Serrano was the most expert bowler in our group, but all three Fariha’s, Samina, Ruby, Rifath and even our advisor Ms. Cooper, scored spectacular “splits” on the big board besides flubbing the inevitable “gutterball” or two.
